Erasmus+ project "Annexions"

Club pour l' UNESCO Jean LAURAIN- Metz

Lycée Louis de Cormontaigne

METZ, Francuska

Opis

Le Lycée Louis de Cormontaigne runs with Hungarian, Czech and German secondary schools, an Erasmus+ project called "Annexions" which focuses on border areas that changed nationalities as a result of war among neighbours. Discussing history, interculturality, peace, differences, language and resilience, this project takes the form of a film concert; the aired film is accompanied by an international students’ orchestra led by a former conductor of the Lorraine National Orchestra. These shows will take place during autumn, winter and spring of the 2024-2025 school year. The volunteers will accompany the tour, raising awareness and preparing the high school students for their travels in France and Europe, helping to plan and follow up these trips. In contact with the tour artists and partners, they will be responsible, with the students, of the tour communication and organisation. With the tutor’s support, they will also facilitate the participation of students with fewer opportunities.

Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz

Volunteers will be accommodated within either university student residences or youth hostels. Meals will be provided by the high school Louis de Cormontaigne, within its refectory. For local travel, volunteers will be able to walk in the city centre, cycle or take a metropolitan public transport pass. Please note that this assignment also involves travelling to various European countries. When travelling to this kind of places, volunteers will be taken care of by the broad organisation of such mobility.

Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti

Volunteers will be accompanied by the tutor in charge of Erasmus+ projects within the Lycée. They will take part in arrival and mid-term seminars, and benefit online French courses. They may also participate in courses and events organised by the Lycée throughout the school year. As the Lead's coordinating body, le Club pour l'UNESCO Jean Laurain is based in Metz, volunteers will also rely on its support, and have the opportunity to take part in the various activities it offers. At the end, volunteers will be awarded a Youthpass certificate recognising their non-formal education achievements.

Profil sudionika

We offer two positions that focus on the project’s cultural aspects and contact with students. Motivation for the project is essential, as is the curiosity to travel and present the dissemination tool in various places. In order to facilitate exchanges with the students, a basic knowledge of French and previous experience in communicating and managing similar projects would be a real plus. Additional training may be considered if necessary. The cover letter should emphasise the applicant's motivation, as well as the impact expected on their personal, educational and professional development.
