The OJA (Offene Jugendarbeit Liechtenstein - Open Youth Work Liechtenstein) is a foundation with different organisations within. The OJA was founded by ten communities of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Eight local youth work organisations operate in eleven youth centers. The main goal of the youth centers is to build a zone, where youngsters can meet. There are different things available in the youth centers: games, music, snacks, different activities for youngsters and to get advice or help from the youth workers. The different youth centers also organize projects, youth exchanges or do street work.

Volunteers are accommodated together with other European volunteers in a fully furnished apartment. Each volunteer has his/her own room and can use the common living areas (kitchen, bathroom and living room). There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the basement. The location of the apartment is very central and directly in front of the house there is a bus stop and shopping facilities. Volunteers receive monthly food allowance and can provide their own meals. Shopping facilities are located in every municipality in Liechtenstein and are easily accessible by public transportation.

There is a preparatory training (PDT) in the sending country, a training (OAT) of new volunteers upon arrival in the host country, and a training (MTT) in the middle of the volunteer year. The volunteer will be given access to the online assessment in German and will then be able to take the OLS language course. The hosting supports the volunteer to participate in volunteer meetings or volunteer camps. The volunteer has the possibility to organize a leisure activity for the volunteers in Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg (AT).

We require that a participant has a high level of motivation and enthusiasm. Our volunteers should want to and be able to work independently - in the youth center with the youngsters as well as in the projects. The volunteer will be introduced, supervised, accompanied and supported by their mentor. A certain natural authority and respect is required for working in the youth center. For the communication, appropriate knowledge of the German language is necessary. An important area of work is socio-cultural animation. Creative, musical and other cultural or even sporting skills useful.
