Th hosting organization is a daily meeting place for a group of children aged 3-6. It was established to support women who emigrated from Ukraine with their children. Your task will be to accompany children, provide them with support and safety, to assist in preparing meals and in organizing arts and developmental activities and to expand knowledge about early childhood education through job shadowing principles. You will be supporting the teacher with managing the group of children in a safe manner in the classroom and outside. Also you will be supporting young children in self-help activities like helping in dressing up, feeding, leading the child by the hand somewhere if needed. You have to create workshops according to your interests and to support arts and crafts workshops according to interest and skills/ different art techniques, clay, paper-mâché (paper pulp), salt dough. You will be working for 35 hours per week that promote the project and the ESC.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

You will be accommodated in a double room, in a flat shared with other European volunteers or local students (about 5 people in one flat). Kitchen and bathroom are shared with flatmates. Flats have internet access, basic kitchen equipment, clean towels and bedding sets. You will receive a monthly allowance (550 PLN) sufficient to buy food to be prepared at home, and also a monthly pocket money (around 150 EUR); also the local transportation card costs are covered by the project. The travel from Italy to Poland and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.

Formazione durante l'attività

You will attend 3 official training sessions: a pre-departure one before leaving Italy, an “on-arrival" one in a few weeks after your advent in Poland, and a mid-term one at half of your volunteering. You will take part in several trainings with project coordinators, learning about work and safety rules, work methods with children, receiving a basic Polish language vocabulary book, and participating in fun team-building activities. Later, Polish classes will take place twice a week for the first 2-3 months. A personal mentor will support you throughout the entire length of the project.

Profilo del partecipante

We look for a volunteer which love working with children and be open to accepting other cultures, personalities and different ways of life. You must have a positive attitude towards potential challenges of living abroad and to be responsible and ready to work with/for the local community. Are you flexible, friendly and helpful? And are you creative, imaginative and have some experience in voluntary work or baby-sitting? Then you’re welcome to join the project. A basic level of Ukrainian or Russian are required and good English level (B2/C1).
