Samtökin ‘78 - The National Queer Organisation of Iceland, is a queer interest and activism association that has existed in Iceland since 1978, giving us our name. Our purpose is to ensure that lesbians, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, intersex, trans people and other queer people are visible, acknowledged and enjoy full rights in Icelandic society, regardless of their country of origin. The volunteer will participate in the daily activities at Samtökin'78. They will assist the organisation's staff in everyday tasks of the office, and will get the chance to help coordinate one of Samtökin78's many activities/events (that have English as their main working language), for example: - Meet and greet clients who come in - Assist with events organising - Assist in the office
Majoitus, ateriat ja kuljetukset
Accommodation, food and transport is all organised by AUS ICYE Iceland. The volunteer will live in a house with 7 other ESC volunteers, with private bedroom and shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. A bus card will be provided for the whole year.
Koulutus hankkeen aikana
AUS ICYE Iceland will organise an introduction training at the arrival. On arrival and mid-term training organised by Iceland’s National Agency are compulsory.
