If so, we have an opportunity for you! You can start volunteering with us in december 2024 and stay for one year. Your volunteering will take place at our 3 locations around Antwerp. At this locations, we assist families from the child welfare system and unaccompanied minor refugees, in becoming more independent. You work together with the facility and logistics employees. You help with the maintenance of the garden and buildings
Your tasks will include:
• Maintaining the garden (weeding, mowing te lawn, pruning).
• Cleaning the living space of the young people, the meeting rooms, the toilets,…
• Technical support for replacing lamps, painting, moving, handyman work,…
• Be present and serve as a positive role model for the youngsters.
• A driven licence for a car is not mandatory but highly recommended.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
• A studio near the city centre of Antwerp (Kiel district). The studio is located at one of our residential sites where young people live.
• Transport by public transport or a bicycle provided by our organisation.
• A monthly food budget of €300.
• Pocket money according to ESC regulations

Profilo del partecipante
We are seeking a volunteer who:
• Is at least 20 years old.
• Is willing to commit for one year.
• Is passionate about technical support.
• Is interested in maintaining building and gardens.
• Gets inspirated by social work.
• Is eager to learn new approaches on working with young people.
• Has a driving licence.
• Is willing to learn Dutch and open to finding ways to communicate in a shared language with young people and colleagues.
• Stays calm and attentive in challenging situations.
