The MJC of Narbonne is an association of popular education that is host to about 50+ activities & manages its own international holiday center which resembles a youth hostel with rooms for groups and its own restaurant. We aim to build together on matters such as environmental education and education for sustainable development, expand our activities to include marginalized youth (school dropouts ; « invisibles » (n. definition : youth that are neither in school or any professional activity and that associations don’t see either), precarious situations...) as well as open more and more activities to include the handicapped. We think it is interesting for us to have an external view on our practices and activities towards youth and the volunteer could be a source of new ideas, projects and take part entirely in the territory of Narbonne. They will be accompanied towards that goal as well as towards their own goals.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
For accommodations, you will be able to make yourself at home in a private room of the MJC's CIS which has ethernet & wifi access to the internet, access to a washing machine and a dryer, a microwave, a private toilet and a shower. You will also have access to a lounge room with TV, one activity of your choice, and your meals will be prepared by our catering service during the week. We will also provide access to the city bus network and regional train subscription which will let you explore other cities within the region of Occitanie.
Wat leer je?
The missions offered are diverse in terms of activity and of the public encountered on a day to day basis. During their mission, the volunteer will develop skills related to: - Learning the French language (registration in the OLS program, exchange with work colleagues who are all prepared for the reception of the volunteer) - Organization of activities for the youth
Wie zoeken we?
We're looking for someone who is sociable, curious, open to others and other cultures, who can work in a team and knows a bit about youth and things related. A plus would be knowledge about social platforms (Instagram & Reels, Tik Tok, Facebook) and maybe some overall computer skills (canva, word, excel). It is highly recommended that you approach an association from your local area or country that can contact us and work with us so we can have a better understanding of what to expect from each other.
