Fondazione Don Giovanni Zanandrea was founded in 1918 in Cento, a little municipality in Emilia Romagna to answer the most urgent needs of the fragile population. Since 1984 ZANANDREA has been working in the field of disability. The main activities include: Pilacà: a day center which assists people with cognitive, physical and psychiatric disabilities, provides health care and pedagogical/psychological support and promotes the acquisition/maintenance of autonomy. - CSO: a protected laboratory that aims to facilitate the insertion into the labor market of peolple with disability. - Freed-Home: a project about independent living for young people with low-support needs disability. Bordo Vasca: an incusive bar -During the year ZANANDREA promotes other projects like work placement/training/orientation, activities for young autistic people, a Baskin (inclusive basket) team with training and official league match, public fundraising events with music, food and drinks and movienights.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

As with other volunteer projects, travel expenses are reimbursed up to a ceiling set by the European Commission. Food, accommodation, language course, training, mentoring/tutoring, monthly pocket money and insurance are covered by the host organization. Fondazione Zanandrea is located in the historic center of the city of Cento. The apartment as well as all the activities are within walking distance, but volunteers will still be offered a bicycle to use for their own journeys. A few hundred meters away is the Cento bus station with connections to Bologna, Modena and Ferrara.

Formazione durante l'attività

Playful-recreational workshops and ateliers alongside operators and educators to ensure growth, empowerment and the maintenance of individual autonomy acquired by users . Volunteers will be able to collaborate in all the main and side projects and activities like Music therapy, sports tournaments, dance and relaxation, excursions in the area, artistic workshops, multimedia activities and any non-formal stimulus that the volunteers will want to bring as personal baggage.
