Youth Worker at Romanian Angel Appeal Youth Hub
FUNDATIA ROMANIAN ANGEL APPEAL - APELUL INGERULUI ROMAN
Bucharest, Roemenië
Beschrijving
Our story began over 30 years ago, inspired by Olivia Harrison, who gathered global support for children in Romanian orphanages. Since then, RAA has helped thousands of children, young people and adults live healthy, independent lives despite social or medical challenges. Built on three pillars (education, health, and social inclusion) we’ve grown together with democratic Romania: from strengthening the health system in the 1990s to building European partnerships today. In recent years, we’ve opened a youth centre in Bucharest, where we run non-formal learning activities, youth exchanges and networking events. Our Youth Team supports young people to learn, travel and bring their ideas to life. We’re now looking for a volunteer to join our communication team in Bucharest. More about us: https://raa.ro/en/
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Volunteers will share a cosy 2-room apartment (2 people/apartment) in a friendly area with easy access to public transport. They’ll receive 300 €/month for food and 120 €/month pocket money. If needed, an RAA team member can join them for weekly shopping. RAA covers travel costs to and from Bucharest at the beginning and end of the project, as well as local public transport during the stay.
Wat leer je?
Volunteers will receive hands-on training from the RAA Youth Team to develop facilitation and communication skills for working with young people and creating non-formal activities. Each volunteer will have a mentor to support them during their stay, help with cultural integration, and explore the city. A volunteer coordinator from RAA will also guide them in joining the team and completing their tasks.
Wie zoeken we?
Do you like working with young people, organising activities and turning ideas into something real? Perfect - you might just be the person we’re looking for. Our Youth Centre in Bucharest is a lively place where local and international young people meet for workshops, exchanges and events. We’re looking for a curious, kind and proactive volunteer who enjoys teamwork and wants to make a difference in the lives of others. You’ll be part of the RAA Youth Team - a group of friendly, creative people who love learning by doing. Together, we create non-formal activities, host community events and build a space where everyone feels welcome. If you like being around people, have a bit of initiative and don’t mind a mix of learning and fun, this is for you. You’ll have space to try your own ideas, learn new facilitation methods and discover what youth work really means. You’ll get to: • Help organise and run workshops, games and youth events • Support the team in planning and preparing activities • Create a warm, friendly atmosphere for participants • Join training sessions to build your skills • Share short weekly updates about what you’ve learned You won’t be doing this alone - we’ll support you every step of the way. Bring your energy, curiosity and good vibes — we’ll take care of the rest.
