Are you eager to volunteer at a unique off-grid location, help restore a monumental site in nature, and develop practical skills in animal care, renovation, and green maintenance? This is a project for those who love practical work, aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, and have a go-getter mentality with a proactive attitude. We place a strong emphasis on sustainable living. Our animal family includes 2 cows, 5 horses used for coaching with the homeless, sheep, 2 pigs, chickens, geese, an aviary, 2 dogs, and a cat. The tasks are physically demanding, and the weather can be challenging in the Netherlands.

The accommodation is at BioArt Village, a beautiful location surrounded by a forest inside the city of Eindhoven. The place is off-grid, fulfilling basic needs, and participants must approach this with a non-wasteful mindset. Common areas include the bathroom, kitchen, and living room. In addition to pocket money, you also receive food money, so basic cooking skills are necessary. The centre and shops are around 20 minutes by bike (bike provided on loan for your use during your stay, we expect you to treat it with care). Public transit bus stop is just around the corner. Airport is nearby.

Our project offers multiple durations, so there is something for everyone. We provide short-term volunteering for those eligible (59 days) and long-term volunteering when possible (up to 6 months). During your time assisting us in developing BioArt Village, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about renovation, animal care, permaculture gardening, and green maintenance. Training in these areas will be provided during the activity.

At our sustainable BioArt Forest, hard work and limited resources are part of the journey. Understanding and living sustainably with limited resources is crucial. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in nature and physical outdoor work, and who embrace living off-grid. They should be ready to tackle challenges, capable of daily sustainable animal care, outdoor work, and assisting with restoring the area. Participants must be able to work independently and effectively as team players. A positive attitude and strong motivation are essential. We encourage individuals with fewer opportunities to apply. However, please note that participants must be in good mental and physical health to perform the required tasks and commit to staying in the program for its entire duration. As part of our commitment to sustainable living, we handle all materials with care, recycle as much as possible, and expect participants to adopt the same mindset in their approach to everything. We compost waste materials, which are then used in our garden beds. The shower and washing machine operate on a coin system to prevent water and energy waste. These are just a few examples of how we live sustainably at BioArt Village. We expect participants to treat the accommodation, belongings, materials, location, animals, and each other with care and respect throughout their stay.
