Our organisation aims at improving social inclusion for people with low economic resources, with a specific focus on housing. We help people to improve their living conditions at home, and we offer general social support when it is needed. Our volunteers help us implement our action about housing through : - helping people to renovate their homes. Volunteers will go to the houses of the people we help and they will work with our professional technical referents in order to perform some renovation tasks : painting, changing wallpapers, plumbery, electricity, etc. - implementing workshops designed to help people improve their living conditions. Some examples of the topics which are addressed: building furniture on your own, making your own natural cleaning products, saving energy and water in your house, etc. Our approach is based on non-formal education and the activities are designed in order to foster the participation of the people we help, and empower them.
Szállás, étkezés és utazás
The volunteer in Pairs is hosted in a room in an international residence, with shared leaving areas with other young people. The volunteer in Bordeaux is hosted in a shared house with 2 other international volunteers. Every ESC volunteer receives a monthly allowance of 600 euros for food expenses and pocket money. Local transport is provided. For international transport, volunteers receive an amount (defined by the European Commission) that varies according to the distance between the hosting place in France and the living place in the country of origin.
Képzés a tevékenység során
On a daily basis, the volunteers are always supported by professional technicians. They also have a regional referent to deal with all the other aspect of the volunteer’s life. Our national movement organises volunteers’ gatherings 3 times a year, in addition to the Erasmus+ National agency arrival and mid-term seminars.
Résztvevői profil
The project is open to anyone looking forward to learning about manual work and social support. We do not expect volunteers to have previous experience.
