This project aims to provide a full-immersion experience in Siderno, Calabria. Volunteers will explore the hidden treasures of this diverse region and experience the warmth of its welcoming people. Bringing together locals and European volunteers, we encourages participants to contribute with their unique skills, experiences, and perspectives, collaborating on activities that address key community needs, (environmental, inter-generational and social initiatives for any age). The often-overlooked concept of European citizenship, is still an unknown topic for our people. Can you help us change that and show them how important it is to volunteer abroad? This project goes beyond cultural exchange—it's a journey to break down stereotypes and encourage open dialogue. We share not only a common heritage but also a responsibility to foster unity and celebrate our unique contributions. Let's build bridges, break barriers and discover the common thread that unite us all.
Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
In order to guarantee and protect the privacy, of each volunteer, a shared apartment with all the comforts, will be provided by the YMCA. More precisely, the apartment will be equipped with shared rooms and bathrooms, heating system, electricity, water, WiFi, kitchen and shared living room. The apartment is located 10 minutes, walking distance, from our main offices. Next, or walking distance to the apartment provided, you can find: bars, shops, gyms, restaurants and pharmacies. Mācības pasākuma laikā
YMCA Siderno will provide an introductory training on how to move yourself around and be safe in the city.
Dalībnieka profils
The organisation will be able to welcome around 8 young volunteers aged from 18 to 29 from all around Europe. The volunteer may come from any culture, minority, ethnicity, race or religion. We will welcome as well all those who might be suffering from rejection and discrimination, facing economic obstacles or with fewer opportunities.
