The volunteer will develop, according to his/her competencies and knowledge, activities within the departments of AJD: Community School: - the volunteer will be involved in supporting the Community School, providing support to the monitors, and developing, under their guidance, the daily activities with children and young people (study time, arts, body language, science, computer, free time, etc.); - develop the AJD community garden; - rethinking AJD's outdoor space with stimuli for learning by playing through non-formal education; - develop ideas to make the Playroom more "Green". Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
Pocket Money for the period of activity has an amount of 6 euros per day. Meals: the amount for lunch or lunch on working days will be provided by AJD. For other lunches, dinners, breakfasts and snacks the volunteer will be given the value of EUR 125,00 per month, by bank transfer. Accommodation: shared house for volunteers. AJD will be responsible for the payment of the monthly rent and expenses, including the internet. Travel on public transport: a monthly bus pass, which is required for journeys between the accommodation and the local activities, will be provided. Bicycles are provided.
Mācības pasākuma laikā
Upon arrival, AJD will provide an on arrival short training/welcoming, in which the volunteers will be introduced to the organization, their tasks, etc. Later, volunteers will attend an on-arrival training and later a mid-term training with the Portuguese National Agency. Similarly, during the performance of his/her tasks, the volunteer will receive support, guidance and supervision from the monitor/supervisor who is responsible for each activity. The host/coordinating organisation will ensure that volunteers have free language training throughout the whole service.

Volunteers must: - be open-minded, respect others, be willing to get out of the comfort zone, be ready to be in the rural area for the activities at AJD, be motivated to learn Portuguese and interact with others; - have an interest and will to work with children and young people; - have an interest and will to work with old people; - have an interest and will to work with people with social obstacles (different ethnicities); - be interested in preserving the environment. It is necessary to continue the project of the association's community garden; - have an interest in communication, design, blogging and social media; - it is also valuable to have good communication skills and the will to organize events for the community.
