This activity consists of supporting the team of staff working in 3 museums of Valencia and also supporting the work done at the central cultural department of the city of Valencia. The tasks will be related with the preparation of exhibitions, the storage and maintenance of the museum and the exhibitions, the support to the staff in the welcoming of guests to the museums and the planning, preparing and running different cultural activities in the city (in and out of the museums). The 3 museums are: the Natural Sciences Museum, the Rice Museum and the Casa Benlliure. The volunteers will be allocated to one of these museums according to the needs and profile, and it could change during the duration of the volunteering. According to the rules of ESC, a total amount of 30-35h per week of activity will take place in your volunteering.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
Shared apartment and SHARED ROOM. This means that there will be 2 people in each room of the apartment. This is because hosting in the area of Valencia is very difficult and expensive and this is the only way we can manage it. The apartment is fully renovated in 2024 and it's close to supermarkets and the metro station to move around easily. Food will be arranged by the volunteers, they will receive the monthly amount for food and they will have to buy and cook. Local transport card will be provided.
Formazione durante l'attività
As part of the ESC volunteering, there will be a pre-departure training (in your own country), then an on-arrival training here in Spain and a mid-term evaluation. During the time in Spain, different training opportunities can happen depending on the situation. The city of Valencia is full of opportunities to learn and improve, so we will be happy to support you to find the best suitable for you in your free time.
