Beschrijving
The main task of the volunteer is to assist to the book lending section and perform various library tasks. Volunteer can participate in cultural events offered by the Janowo Library, assist with photo/video documentation. If Volunteer had ideas for cultural events or workshops, they can implement their projects with the assistance of the promotion department. In addition, volunteer help adapting the library space for authors’ meetings, concerts, and exhibitions. Help is needed in all kinds of tasks, some simple and some more complex. Volunteer will support employers of the library in their daily tasks, It includes: •Familiarizing with the arrangement of the books; •Learning the principles of book description. Describing and stamping new books; •Registering new books into the library system; •Maintaining an aesthetic and alphabetical arrangement of books on the shelves; •Checking out and receiving returned books from the visitors of the library.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Volunteer will be provided with monthly Pocket money as well as tickets for buses to go to work. He/she will be sharing a room with 1-2 other volunteers in 3-room rented flat.
Wat leer je?
Volunteer is obliged to participate in trainings provided by National Agency (On-arrival training and Mid-term training) as well as trainings run and organized by supporting organization.
Wie zoeken we?
We are looking for a volunteer who both is interested in dealing with everyday librarian work, but also likes to engage in activities such as art, music or acting and help with them. The volunteer should be communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive. It is welcome if the volunteer has basic English language skills and is willing to study Polish. The volunteer will have the opportunity to propose personal projects and lead workshop about a topic of his/her interest depending on the space and possibilities of the library.
