Manas Garden is located in the peaceful countryside of Lengyeltóti, Hungary. The old holiday complex from the 1960s and surrounding fields and forests were abandoned for 10 years. Today, this beautiful landscape provides home to a permacultural community, hosts Manas Festival, and travellers from all over the world to provide alternative education and experiences to those who seek it. Majoitus, ateriat ja kuljetukset

You will be sleeping in large tents (2-6 person) with some bedding and cozy interior provided. Please bring warm sleeping bags, because at night, the temperature can go as low as 5°C. There is a large communal shower and bathroom building at your disposal with warm running water. The preparation of meals (vegetarian) will be your responsibility as a group in our community kitchen, where the ingredients will be provided by the Manas community. Washing machines will also be provided.

The idea for the project came to us as a shared interest came up in conversation about mushrooms, and their ecosystem. With our two facilitators being a biologist, and an artist, we will be joining these two worlds in every aspect. You will have the opportunity to learn extensively about fungi and their mycellium: the unseen net that connects all of them and provides a system of unique connection to their entire kind. We aim to form our own mycellium as the project develops and hope to see you be a part of it.

We are on the lookout for vibrant individuals aged between 18 and 30 who are legal residents of the European Union - a total of 15 people. If you are someone with a curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about and caring for nature and fungi, and are interested in sculpting and creating installations in multiple mediums, you are exactly who we are looking for. Beyond skills, we seek individuals open to the communal experience. Being part of our community means engaging in regular meetings and reflection sessions requiring and encouraging vulnerability and openness.
