Four years ago, the Yamochori Project took root in the village of Makria Logka, in Etoloakarnania—a small village with only a handful of permanent residents but a great need for activism, youth empowerment, and environmental awareness. To strengthen our community and expand our impact, we are working to welcome additional volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program. While we already collaborate with volunteers from international networks, we believe that integrating ESC participants will help ensure the longevity and growth of our initiative. Our open field serves as the heart of the village—an unfenced gathering place where people connect, share knowledge, and build together. It is a living school where farmers refine sustainable farming techniques, builders explore innovative construction methods, and educators develop new ways of teaching. Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Participants will stay in a village house next to Yamochori, offering a simple rural lifestyle. The house has a kitchen, two bedrooms, an outdoor toilet with a shower, and a washing machine. The closest market is 4 km away, so grocery shopping requires planning. The village is small and peaceful, far from city life. Transportation is arranged twice a week by car to Thermo, Kallithea, and Agrinio for access to shops and other facilities. This experience fosters self-sufficiency and community living in nature.
Wat leer je?
Participants will be involved in the organization, design, and implementation of the farm’s infrastructure, including woodwork, natural building, traditional stonework, drywalls, and DIY projects. They’ll also contribute to the planning and implementation of the farm's permaculture design. Additional activities include school gardening, cleaning paths, organizing local events, and participating in Erasmus+ projects. Participants will also assist in teaching English to locals and creating thematic workshops.

Participant Requirements for the Project We are looking for motivated individuals who meet the following criteria to participate in this unique experience: Age Requirement Applicants must be between 20 and 30 years old. Participants must not be older than 31 on the 1st of July 2023. Residency & Visa Eligibility Participants must be legal residents of one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. They must not require a visa to enter Greece. Skills, Knowledge & Learning Motivation Candidates should be eager to learn or already possess knowledge and experience relevant to the project’s thematic areas. The project seeks individuals who are open to acquiring new skills, engaging in experiential learning, and contributing actively to the group. Attitude & Engagement We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy hands-on activities and are willing to participate in practical, real-life tasks. Ideal candidates should be proactive, eager to take initiatives, and passionate about creating positive opportunities for themselves and society. Participants must be comfortable working in a collaborative, community-driven environment. Living Conditions & Adaptability The program takes place in a rural environment with basic living conditions. Participants should be mentally and physically prepared to embrace a simple lifestyle for three months. Intercultural & Community Engagement The project involves living and working alongside people from different cultural backgrounds. Candidates must be open-minded, flexible, and willing to contribute to building a sustainable community together. Participants should be ready to challenge themselves, embrace teamwork, and align their efforts towards a shared goal.
