The Via-Viridis Association operates the Swallow Nest after-school (Fecskefészek Tanoda) in Pilisvörösvár, Hungary. Their program is primarily aimed at children (aged 7 to 16) who struggle to fit into the education system and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their goal is not only to support the children in their studies but also to develop their social skills, helping them achieve long-term success in the job market. Help make the summer camp a reality for children aged 7 to 16 by joining an international team of volunteers and making a lasting impact on their lives. The camp takes place within a Reformed Christian community, where prayer will be part of the daily program. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to teach English, lead games and sports activities, and most importantly, foster joy, trust, and confidence in the children. Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
All volunteers will be accommodated in shared two-bed rooms in Budapest, requiring a daily commute to Pilisvörösvár, which takes approximately one hour each way. We will provide a public transport pass to cover the commute. We provide two meals a day (cold breakfast and hot meals for lunch), with a vegetarian option available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money and 5 EUR per day food allowance to cover the dinner. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.
Mācības pasākuma laikā
From Friday till Sunday an orientation training (movement, sports and games and facilitation skills) will be provided by an experienced Egyesek staff member. This will be followed by mentoring sessions to support the learning and professional development of you. In the institution school staff will provide further support if required. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are empathetic, patient, and have experience or interest in teaching children and teenagers. Strong communication skills are essential—even nonverbal communication—along with the ability to connect easily with different age groups. This camp is especially ideal for those who have worked with children before or are looking to gain experience in this field.
