Education Support in a Community School in a Rural area

NGO MONDO

UGANDA PIONEERS ASSOCIATION

KAMPALA, Uganda

Beschrijving

The Uganda Pioneers’ Association (UPA) is a youth-led NGO founded in 1989 that promotes community-based development, intercultural cooperation and youth participation across Uganda. In this volunteer role you will conduct workshops and training sessions aimed at enhancing school management by equipping teachers with both practical and theoretical methods and supporting subject teachers across a variety of disciplines. You’ll also raise awareness in the wider community about the importance of education, source partnerships to strengthen the school library, and organize, train and supervise extracurricular activities to give students holistic learning experiences. In addition, you’ll assist with UPA’s partner project activities with MONDO NGO—following up and supporting implementation of community projects across primary and secondary schools.

Local transport mainly consists of boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis). Traveling to Kampala city takes about two hours by public transport at approximately 10,000 UGX one way. This setup offers a comfortable and exciting experience, blending urban amenities with meaningful community engagement.
