More Solidarity, Better Citizenship is a volunteering activity involving several volunteers from different countries. The volunteers will be placed in the city of Faro, where they'll have the opportunity to experience a totally different culture and way of living. The volunteers will be involved in the activities and projects developed by the Host Organisation, mostly centred on social and educational intervention with youth through different methods: arts, sports, play, theatre, study and pedagogy. Volunteers will also be encouraged to develop and implement your own projects/ideas. Association Sê Mais Sê Melhor (SMSM, Be More, Be Better) has an office close to the center of the city, in IPDJ Regional Direction of Algarve, together with other youth organizations. In terms of physical installations, our office is composed by youth cabinets, computer points, social living rooms, arts and sports spaces.

Szállás, étkezés és utazás

SMSM will ensure appropriate living and working conditions. Suitable accommodation and a food allowance will be provided, including during the holiday period, included in the project budget. The volunteers will live together in a furnished rented flat, with separated rooms. The flat is located in the city of Olhão, 10Km from the working place. Local means of transport (bus or train) are available for the volunteers. Volunteers will receive, monthly, an amount of pocket money stipulated by ESC program.All the allowances will be provided to the volunteers on a monthly basis, by bank transfer.

Képzés a tevékenység során

To support, reinforce and complement the learning acquired through participation in the activities, specific quality and support measures are foreseen: the General Online Training, language learning support through EU Academy, the Training and Evaluation Cycle, mentoring and recognition of learning outcomes. Pre-departure training for participants, as a part of the Training and Evaluation Cycle, will be ensured by Support Organisations (in cooperation with the Host Organisation).

Résztvevői profil

The purpose when hosting volunteers has to do with identification between the volunteers and the project's and organization dynamics. In selecting the volunteers, the project’s potential contribution to the development of the volunteer’s personal, social and professional skills was one of the main aspects in consideration. Volunteers will be selected in a fair, transparent and objective way, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion or disability. No previous qualifications, specific experience or language knowledge is required. The role of the volunteers will be to participate and help in the daily tasks of the office, which includes the following tasks: - support the development of activities for youngsters, witch will involve the preparation of group dynamics, team building activities, cultural activities, sport activities, and others, always in articulation with the associations team; - promotion of games and activities for youngsters during the school breaks and holidays; - work at Sê+ Youth Space, where the volunteers can help in the organisation of the space, in the organisation of activities for the holidays related to special events, in the creation of new activities and in the social media management/marketing campaigns; - support in the international relationships, helping the team in the organization of International Trainings for cooperation of people from different nationalities in various subjects, Youth Work Camps for the promotion of volunteerism in various subjects and International Training and Exchange Programmes; - and office support in the international level, making contacts with international partners, helping the team with administrative tasks, making contacts with European and helping to establish new partnerships.
