Volunteering in kindergarden "Flughörnchen" in Leipzig

Internationaler Bund - IB Mitte gGmbH für Bildung und Soziale Dienste

Internationaler Bund - IB Mitte gGmbH für Bildung und Soziale Dienste Niederlassung Sachsen

Leipzig, Németország

Leírás

We - the team at the ‘Flughörnchen’ integrative day care centre - look after up to 133 children aged 1-6 years in a total of 7 groups. We want to organise the kindergarten time with the children and their families in such a way that they will remember it fondly. Our daycare centre is a place of diversity, where children of all backgrounds and specialities find a social network that gives them room to develop their different needs. Nature education, social-emotional and language education play a major role in everyday life. Our proximity to the Leipzig floodplain forest gives us the opportunity to explore nature with the children and plan excursions. Our beautiful garden also offers a variety of opportunities to get in touch with nature.

You are provided with a shared furnished apartment in Leipzig or surrounding with 2 or more other European volunteer/s in a private room. Moreover, either a local transport ticket in Leipzig (Bildungsticket) will be provided to the volunteer.

Képzés a tevékenység során

Our organization offers to the volunteer the possibility to take part in a language course, according to their current level of German. All participants (long-term volunteering) must participate in two mandatory ESC seminars during their project: On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. These are opportunities to meet volunteers from other countries, gain understanding of the EU values and reflect on the ongoing project. The volunteers will also get to know other volunteers from Leipzig.

Résztvevői profil

The volunteer should be interested in working with children and their families. A basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage. Furthermore the volunteer can contribute with creative ideas in projects. The motivation of the volunteer to do a voluntary service and work with children is the most important criteria in selecting the volunteers. Other criteria might be: - good basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage or very good English language skills, - desirable: initial experience in the field of education or social work. We need an extended certificate of good conduct. Since 2021, it is obligatory that people working with children in Germany have a measles immunisation. The volunteer will be working together with the educators, supporting their daily work with children. Possible tasks are: - Accompaniment on excursions and walks (getting to know the neighbourhood) - Reading aloud in mother tongue - Assistance in preparing meals (children are welcome to incorporate their own ideas and cultural influences) - Participation in the garden fields of the daycare centre (tending beds, watering plants, harvesting, processing crops) - Designing the house and garden (creative ideas) - Supporting the paedagogical staff in everyday life (playing with the children, crafting, painting, doing sports) - Please apply via PASS Portal or via mail eu-volunteers-leipzig@ib.de .
