Inclusion through nature
Örnsköldsviks kommun
Örnsköldsvik, Svezia
Descrizione
Outdoor life is an important part of living in northern Sweden because we have some of the most beautiful and clean nature in Europe. However, those with immigrant background or with some kind of disability are often not finding their way into the outdoor life, but we wish to include them. This project aims to introduce outdoor life all year around and the related health benefits to these target groups. The basis for the outdoor life in Sweden is the right to public access to the wilderness. On arrival the volunteer will get an introduction in the Swedish outdoor life and its conditions, to then start planning appropriate activities for the target group. The volunteer will be working with and get support from our outdoor team members, but a high level of independence and creativity is required. Our aim is to give our volunteer maximum opportunity for personal growth and we encourage them to bring their own ideas into the project.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
Our volunteers are accommodated in their own fully equipped, 1 bedroom apartment located in the centre of Örnsköldsvik, very near their workplace. Each volunteer will have their own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, and share a bigger kitchen and laundry room with other volunteers and students. They will be given a monthly allowance for food and private expenses. Local travel is taken by bus or on bike. Many things can also be found in walking distance. A driving license is not required, but a plus.
Formazione durante l'attività
The volunteers will be given opportunity to learn Swedish language through online training and in physical classes. The volunteers are expected to participate in the on-arrival and midterm seminar arranged by the Swedish NA.
