ASPEm, in collaboration with Yachay Chhalaku, looks for a volunteer to support school accompaniment for children aged 5 to 12. The aim is to contribute to their development through personalized support that promotes emotional well-being and fosters inclusive education, also through creative, manual and recreational activities. The role includes both academic support and the development of soft skills such as visual arts and creative abilities, within an integral approach that encourages expression and emotional growth. The experience is part of a project focused on preventing violence against rural women and students, promoting educational and community-based actions with a gender perspective. The volunteer collaborates with a professional local team, participating in awareness-raising initiatives and rights protection in the school environment. Activities take place about 20 minutes from the office, accessible by car or public transportation, from Monday to Friday (30–40 h/week).
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
The house is in Cochabamba, where ASPEm’s local office is based, a city offering activities, courses, shopping centers and services. It is in a safe area, shared with other volunteers, each person having a private, lockable room. Utilities such as water, gas, electricity and internet are included. The house is in the northern area, close to shops, pharmacies and banks. It has good access to safe and affordable public transportation to reach Sacaba, where the project activities take place. Vegetarian/vegan options are limited, but there is more variety available in the city center.
Wat leer je?
ASPEm promotes training spaces to strengthen key competencies related to gender equality, inclusive education, educational support, community work, socio-cultural animation, strategies for working with children in rural and vulnerable contexts. Online meetings with other volunteers in the project are planned as opportunity for training and exchange of experiences, challenges and best practices. Participants will have access to platforms such as OLS, GOT and SALTO and will develop skills such as autonomy, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. All will be certified with the Youthpass.
Wie zoeken we?
We are looking for a motivated, empathetic, and committed person with a spirit of service and a sensitivity to gender justice. A willingness to work in community and rural contexts, with intercultural respect and openness to learning, is essential. Knowledge in community work, animation, and education is highly valued, as are creative, artistic, and manual skills, and the ability to create safe and creative spaces for children in vulnerable situations. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible coun-tries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding to-gether this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU vol-unteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
