The Cooperative La Comunità is a social enterprise active in Genoa since 1979 in the field of social-educational service management, which aims at the social reintegration of people, the creation of opportunities and the reduction of the risk of social exclusion. La Comunità has opened a residential center for unaccompanied foreign minors called “Tuin - Il Giardino” where 16 minors live and develop their personal projects. Activities: Organizing recreational activities for the young - like games and workshops; - Support to educators in assistance in daily accompaniments/commitments; - Creation of specific workshops organised together with the educators; - Free play and creating relationships with the young in the centre; - Looking after the common spaces and meal sharing.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The volunteer will live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. 6 euros per day of pocket money and food or a food allowance will be provided. The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission.
Formazione durante l'attività
The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency (On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation). In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive specific training in the Hosting Organization related to the target group they will work with.
Profilo del partecipante
Age: 22-30 years old; Willing to stay at least 6 months in our project; Autonomous, mature and responsible, open to sharing and meeting other people; Be able to assist with the educative and training process of La Comunità; Since it requires a delicate role in contact with young people that often come from complex family situations, the volunteer should possess such qualities as high tolerance, patience, firmness, creativity; Willingness to learn Italian. We expect your CV and Motivation to be in ENGLISH!
