ALA is a non profit organization specialized in activities for young people and adults in the rural areas. It is based in Sabina, an agricultural area 40 km away from Rome. The main goal is to promote sustainability and the local community. The association works to build an idea of an inclusive educational community where everyone can find the space to express themselves, outside of any social judgement. ALAs mainly deals with youth aggregation, active citizenship, participation, welcome and local development for the purposes of sustainable tourism and redevelopment of abandoned public spaces. This workcamp is all about getting back to the basics, living simply, working with your hands, and reconnecting with the land and with others. We’ll spend most of our time outdoors: preparing the soil for the next season, growing vegetables, and caring for the natural environment. It’s hands-on, meaningful work in a peaceful, rural setting.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The group will be accommodated at Ostello Del Tempo Perso. A local hostel in the heart of Roccantica. The hostel is furnished with washing machine, bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, and Wi-Fi. The participants will have shared bedrooms with other volunteers.
Formazione durante l'attività
At the beginning, volunteers will have the opportunity to explore Roccantica and team bonding sessions. At the end, the reflection session regarding the work.
Profilo del partecipante
We are looking for volunteers with a strong sense of adaptability and open-mindedness, who are willing to share the space with other volunteers and eager to experience the authentic Italian rural lifestyle.
