Join “An Inclusive Path for the Rural II” in Solsona, Catalonia! This ESC project empowers youth and people at risk of social exclusion through social inclusion, circular economy, and intercultural exchange. Volunteers will support activities such as second-hand shop organization, language workshops, food bank logistics, community decoration, and occasional English sessions for children. Hosted by Fundació Volem Feina, the project promotes active citizenship, sustainability, and personal growth. Volunteers will live in shared flats, receive mentoring and language lessons, and end the project with a Youthpass certificate. Ideal for motivated, open-minded volunteers eager to make an impact!

Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz

We will host the volunteers in rented shared flats in Solsona. Each accommodation will assure good living conditions (private beds, equipped kitchen and bathroom, heating system, running cold and hot water, Wi-fi). Young will have your own room and share the rest of the house with other volunteers or locals. International travel, local transport, accommodation and utility fees, monthly communication costs, costs related to activities are covered directly by the program. Every month you will recieve 180€ pocket money and your food allowance.

Profil sudionika

Our ideal volunteer is passionate about social inclusion, sustainability, and cultural exchange. They are eager to engage with diverse communities, especially people facing social exclusion, and contribute meaningfully to their empowerment and integration. The volunteer is open-minded, patient, and ready to learn from hands-on experiences while sharing their own knowledge and cultural background. A collaborative spirit and willingness to participate actively in community projects are essential. Key Competencies and Qualities: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Interest in social justice, environmental sustainability, and intercultural dialogue - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, multicultural environment - Empathy and respect for people from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds - Good level in English and/or willingness to support language workshops (other language skills are a plus) - Creativity and initiative, especially for activities like space decoration and workshop support - Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed Volunteer Tasks: - Assist with reviewing and sorting second-hand items alongside service users, contributing to recycling and circular economy efforts - Support and facilitate language and cultural exchange workshops; possibly help with ongoing conversation groups run by Càritas Arxiprestal Solsona-Morunys - Collaborate on decorating and enhancing the presentation of second-hand shops to improve their appeal and sales - Observe and assist in social and employment orientation sessions, gaining insights into labor market integration - Participate in the Food Bank (Economat) activities, including food distribution, organizing, and donation collection - Occasionally organize and support English classes and conversation groups for children at SIS - Visit and engage with the recycling center (Deixalleria), contributing ideas for improvement and understanding daily operations
