United towards a Horizon of Hope 2025/2026
Wereld Esperanto-Jongeren Organisatie
"Universala Esperanto Asocio" (Wereld Esperanto Vereniging)
Rotterdam, Netherlands
Description
Each volunteer will be working closely with our board and staff, both online, from our headquarters in Rotterdam, through the internet, and locally during events. The opportunity covers activities such as: - Blogging or contribution to media, social media or co-organising activities, - Simple office tasks, - Raising the general knowledge and understanding of the volunteer about the cultural richness of Esperanto, - Representing TEJO in international events, - Brainstorming meetings in order to bolster teamwork and collaborate in very diverse projects. The schedule of activities will be flexible since the volunteer will be involved in different projects throughout the year, depending on the volunteer's interests. The final tasks will be adapted to the volunteer preferences. The working language is Esperanto. We will offer courses for non-speakers and beginners, but previous knowledge is an important asset.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
All our volunteers live together in a shared house in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), 12 minutes away from the office and 21 from eendrachtsplein by walk. They have all the usual amenities (internet, bikes, a balcony, etc.) The volunteers will receive money to cover their food needs and also pocket money for other needs, in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch National Agency. We cover the house amenities including electricity, water and internet. The volunteers will have access to bicycles during their stay.
Training during the activity
We usually offer a series of training on very diverse topics during our owns or external events. Some examples of the topic covered are creating a podcast, Human Rights' activism, using arts to communicate values, linguistic rights, etc. We also offer language training in Esperanto for non-speakers and beginners.

They should be interested in languages, particularly Esperanto (no prior knowledge necessary but highly recomendable), as well as active, willing to learn and wanting to gain new skills in at least one of the four main activities described above.
