Volunteer in Nordic Labour Mobility and Youth Projects

Föreningen Norden Sverige

Stockholm, Zviedrija

Apraksts

You will be part of a small dynamic team working with youth’s mobility and participation in Sweden. Your tasks will be mostly connected to the Nordic labour market program Nordjobb, which helps young European citizens between the age of 18-30 discover Nordic countries through seasonal jobs. As a volunteer, you will have contact with both incoming and potential young workers, as well as other partners such as high schools, universities, municipalities and non-profit organisations. You will contribute to the marketing of the Nordjobb program through events, information meetings and social media. Together with a small team, you will work with carrying out leisure and cultural activities for the youth coming to Sweden. You will also support Nordjobb’s team in various tasks such as recruiting administration, day-to-day contact with the youth, and collection of feedback. Travel in Sweden and in the Nordics can occur, and some activities can be allocated in the evenings and/or weekends.

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

Food and pocket money is paid monthly through the ESC-grant. Travel to and from Sweden is covered, once at the start and once at the end of the volunteering period (one return trip). You will be assigned a room in a shared apartment or a single-room studio through one of our long-term accommodation partners in Stockholm, with good connection to the office through public transport. You are guaranteed a travel card for the Stockholm area for your whole volunteering period, as well as other necessary work equipment (computer, telephone, SIM-card).

Mācības pasākuma laikā

We define your learning goals together with the support of a volunteering agreement, which you will be evaluating and updating periodically with your mentor. You will be assigned a mentor that follows up your development and well-being weekly, a day-to-day work manager as well as a social mentor. You will participate in obligatory steps of the Training and Evaluation cycle, including an on-arrival training and a mid-term evaluation in Stockholm, organised by the Swedish national agency. Swedish language training is offered in accordance with your language level (i.e. need-based).

Dalībnieka profils

We are looking for a person with an interest for or a will to learn more about international mobility, youth employment and Nordic/European co-operation. It is important that you: are responsible and have the ability to independently plan and carry out tasks with the support of your supervisor; have good collaboration and communication skills; are comfortable with speaking in front of other people and leading groups of young people in an inclusive and enthusiastic way. An interest in digital communication/media creation is a plus and it is an advantage if you have previously lived or worked in Sweden/the Nordics.
