We will focus painting in white some walls and replacing the graffiti paintings created in 2016 in Nava, Asturias (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oishyVdpjy0&t=75s), which were even featured on regional TV (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xmDSdPy_CE). The project aims to involve young volunteers restoring an area with white walls but also creating street art within a multicultural atmosphere. Street art will serve as a tool for change and inspiration, to engage people and improve public spaces. For this artistic intervention, participants will transform walls of the town that have been specially offered by the Municipality of Nava. The main goal is to explore talents and share ideas while raising awareness about cultural diversity through graffiti art. The project will gather young people with a passion for painting to learn from each other, exchanging skills, knowledge, and experiences in a non-formal setting, with the final outcome of producing a collective street art piece.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Accommodation will be at Albergue Municipal de Piloñeta, a renovated former school built of stone and wood almost 100 years ago, located a few km from Nava. It has two large and two small rooms with bunk beds for about 50–55 people, plus shared bathrooms. The youth hostel is simple, with some spaces shared with a local wood-carving association. Volunteers will cook in turns, so please bring your own recipes to create an international atmosphere. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.
Wat leer je?
Workshops and unformal experiences on local culture will be available for participants.
Wie zoeken we?
Participants between 18 and 30 years old with real artistic background, such as painters, graphic designers, sketchers, cartoonists, graffiti makers or/and in certain cases specially motivated volunteers. We really ask so to make a good selection but still we will ask from all to show us their work before being selected. We seek for such profile in order to contribute better to this project. Nevertheless participants with less opportunities will be very welcome and their circumstances will be take into consideration. Porfolio will be required to evaluate your artistic skills
