Advent Trail in Novo mesto 2025

Apraksts

In December, we have advent Novo mesto, which includes a music program, an ice rink, and an advent market on the square. As part of this event, we will set up a live Advent route along the river Krka, over two bridges. Advent Trail is a volunteering team project that gathers 10 persons from around Europe to Novo mesto 15. 10. – 15. 12. 2025. During the project, the volunteers will prepare and carried out Advent trail. Volunteers will function as an elf and do different kind of activities with the visitors around the Advent Trail. Work also includes helping the staff of Youth center Oton in serving for the advent time visitors of the youth center. The volunteer needs to have a support organization from their country. For the first month and a half, volunteers will meet at the Oton Youth Center, where they will write the story of the Advent Trail, make dresses, set the scene, and props.

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

The volunteer is insured during the project. Also, the volunteer needs to have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The volunteers will work 5 days a week 7 hours per day lunch hour included. Worktimes are during the office work hours. There might be work sometimes in the evening and weekends too. Volunteers will be staying in Hostel Situla. Participants need to pay travel themselves Zavod Novo mesto will reimburse the travel after the volunteering period. The volunteers get paid a certain amout of pocket money based on the National Agency regulations.

For the first month and a half, volunteers will meet at the Oton Youth Center, where they will write the story of the Advent Trail, make dresses, set the scene, and props. 2nd till 12th December will bring the project alive. We will organize walking tousr around the trail.

Dalībnieka profils

The project is open for who are interested in youth development, community engagement, and promoting active participation among young people. Since the project involves working with children, young individuals, and other community members, it would be beneficial for volunteers to have a genuine interest in working with diverse groups of people and youth. We are looking for volunteers who are open-minded, respectful of diversity, and willing to learn from and collaborate with individuals of varying cultures and perspectives. During the project the mentors are going to support you to achieve goals of the organization and your personal goals. To volunteer you need English skills. We will select participants by first reading their CVs and motivation letter. After that we are going to do an interview via Zoom.
