Join the long-term ESC project at the Borussia Foundation in northeastern Poland, Olsztyn – capital city of the Warmia and Masuria region known for its multicultural heritage and beautiful nature. The hosting organisation, Borussia Foundation, runs the Centre of Intercultural Dialogue “Mendelsohn House” in Olsztyn, a space for education, creativity and cultural exchange. Activities include local history and cultural projects, non-formal education for various grups: youth, children, adults. Volunteering here means contributing to meaningful, community-based projects in a friendly and supportive environment. As a volunteer, you will support educational and cultural activities such as workshops, events and creative initiatives for the local community. You’ll also have the chance to share your culture, develop new skills and broaden your horizons.

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

The volunteer will be accommodated in a Shared-accommodation with other volunteers in Olsztyn, with a private or shared room (depending on availability), access to a kitchen, bathroom, and Wi-Fi. A monthly allowance will be provided for food and pocket money, in accordance with ESC standards. Travel costs to and from Olsztyn will be reimbursed based on the distance calculator of the European Solidarity Corps. The volunteer will also receive a public transportation card for travel within the city.

Mācības pasākuma laikā

The volunteer will take part in training and support sessions provided by the hosting organisation and the Polish National Agency. This includes an on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation with other ESC volunteers in Poland. The volunteer will also receive language learning support, and regular mentoring meetings. The team at the Borussia Foundation will offer ongoing assistance to help the volunteer gain new skills, reflect on their learning, and actively contribute to the organisation’s life.

Dalībnieka profils

We are looking for a motivated and open-minded volunteer aged 18–30 who is curious, interested in people, culture, and social issues, and willing to contribute to the local community. No specific qualifications or experience are required, but a willingness to learn, take initiative and engage in teamwork is essential. The project is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with people, wants to gain experience in non-formal education and cultural activities, and is ready to adapt to a new environment. Basic English is helpful for communication, but not mandatory.
