From Rural to Urban Agricologia

This project takes place in the mountainous region of Madrid named Sierra Norte de Madrid but will be copied in other regions. The project aims to support the social network of associations and inniciatives that contribute to the development of rural areas. In general, there is a wide range of activities in different fields depending on what the volunteer can and wants to do. New ideas and initiatives are always welcome. During several momments volunteers will be involved in our international work camps. From 11/10 to 25/10 volunteers as a group will primarily undertake agricultural work, although there may be some opportunities to assist the local community (Ayuntamiento) plus some beekeeping work, when needed. Additionally, there will be occasional educational activities with children or visits to senior centers or other social events to support the community organizations in the area, to complete 6-7 working hours a day. 2 days per week will be free.
Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz
Initial project will be done in Lozoyuela Madrid but it can happen to be localted in other palces. The volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, Casa Jazmin, with three rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders. You can either bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag. There are beds and pillows but no sheets or pillow covers. La Casa Jazmín is recently renovated but there are always some pending tasks to complete.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
This project provides the occasion to increase key competences that are necessary for youth to become active citizens and to improve their educational and employment prospects. It will provide an opportunity to be involved in activities based on non-formal education, involving people on a voluntary basis, providing youngsters with opportunities to acquire a wide range of skills (personal, professional, and intercultural) through planned non-formal and informal activities. At the end of the Service, new skills acquired by the volunteers will be recognized through the Youth Pass certificate.
Profil sudionika
We are looking for active young people who want to participate in a project focused on rural development. Your initiative and new ideas are very welcome. At least a basic level of English is required (the higher your Spanish is, the better). Also, a driving licence is valued.
