Do you want to bring people together and spark positive change in Shumen? As a Community Event Organizer, you will play a vital role in shaping a lively youth community while creating opportunities for young people to learn, connect, and thrive. Working closely with local NGOs, schools, universities, and informal youth groups, you will organize events, workshops, and initiatives that enrich Shumen’s cultural and social life. Your role will include planning and coordinating events, facilitating youth participation, supporting local initiatives, and ensuring that every gathering inspires growth and collaboration. From interactive school sessions to city-wide youth events, you’ll help young people discover new opportunities, explore ESC and Erasmus+ programmes, and build a stronger, more sustainable community. This position will help you strengthen your skills in project coordination, event planning, public speaking, community building, and youth engagement.
Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz
Volunteers are hosted in a three-room apartment in Shumen, each with a private bedroom and shared kitchen and bathroom. Overhead costs are included. Travel expenses are reimbursed within a set limit. A monthly allowance covers food, pocket money, and local transport, ensuring volunteers can live comfortably and focus on their projects.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
Volunteers will receive on-arrival training organised by the Bulgarian National Agency as well as orientation and a detailed explanation about Podobri’s goals, vision, mission, long-term projects, and way of working. In addition, you’ll take part in trainings on youth participation, project management, event facilitation, and community building. You will also be introduced to digital tools for event promotion, Eurodesk materials, and given access to our library of youth work resources. Constant support will be provided through mentoring, daily check-ins, and collaborative planning.
Profil sudionika
We are looking for a young, curious, and proactive person who wants to develop skills in event organization, youth work, and community building, and who would be interested in the following activities: - Plan and organize events, workshops, and initiatives for the local community; - Support and co-create youth projects that enhance Shumen’s cultural and social life; - Facilitate interactive sessions in schools and universities to promote ESC, Erasmus+ and youth mobility opportunities; - Work with youth groups to design and deliver activities that encourage participation; - Collaborate with NGOs and partners to host cultural, educational, and social events; - Promote Eurodesk and other opportunities through events and info sessions; - Prepare engaging presentations and ensure smooth event logistics; - People who enjoy connecting with others, bringing ideas to life through events, and motivating young people to get involved in their community will be preferred.
