Opis
We provide support to refugees and asylum seekers in different aspects of their inclusion in society and one of them is education - we teach adult refugees Croatian, English language, programming and digital literacy. We believe that everybody has the right to equal opportunities regarding their education. We are looking for a volunteer who will be a part of our adult education team. Tasks will include assisting our teachers and students in programming classes (no need of programming knowledge), supporting our students in their learning process, monitoring the progress of our students, communicating on our channels and in email with our students, assisting to Croatian language classes (no need to know the language) teaching digital skills and English language and similar activities involving teaching and adult education.

Travel costs: covered according to EU distance calculator; Accommodation: In shared accommodation with 2 other volunteers (single room); Monthly allowance of around 500 eur (food and pocket money); Public transport tickets; Language support (basic language support through EU platform OLS and possibility to engage in a group course A1/A2 level); Health Insurance coverage and potential visa and residence permit costs coverage.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
The organization provides onboarding training for all the volunteers. An On arrival and Mid-term training will be provided by Croatian National Agency and pre-departure training for the volunteer will be organized by the supporting organization. During the volunteering period, there might be other training opportunities through SALTO Youth, local opportunities or organized by the host organization.
Profil sudionika
We're looking for someone interested in adult education, teaching methods, digital and tech topics, languages, quality of education, and teaching others. Doesn't need to know programming but previous interest in digital and tech subjects is a plus. Also, doesn't need to speak Croatian. Previous interest through other volunteering, work or educational experiences in the field of education (especially adult) and transferring knowledge will also be considered a plus. Please demonstrate it through a motivational letter and CV. A candidate needs to be passionate about education and teaching since he/she will be spending the majority of their work in educational activities and with people.
