Ogres Baltā Valdorfskola is an independent Waldorf school in Latvia that offers a human-centred, arts-integrated education for children from early childhood through the upper grades. We are a small school – we have 76 preschool and school students. The school emphasizes experiential learning, imagination and creativity, nature connection, movement, artistic processes, rhythm and child development stages. We work in close partnership with families and cultivate an environment where relationships, respect, curiosity and growth are central. Our community is built on cooperation, compassion and shared responsibility. Tasks of the volunteer • Assist teachers in classes, for example, outdoor activities • Assist school in organising school activities • Organise events for students, teachers, families or community on environmental sustainability • Promote more sustainable practises in school
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Vounteers will share an appartment nearby school. There is a public transport available and volunteers receive a bike. Appartment will have all necessary equipment for comfortable living. Part of meals will be provided in school (vegetarian lunch and afternoon meal during school days), for other meals food money will be provided. Ogre city is situated close to the capital city Riga and has a convenient public transport to Riga and most other cities and towns of Latvia.
Wat leer je?
Upon arrival volunteers will receive training about working and being with children (preschool and primary school students) There will also be a mentor for volunteers who will assist volunteers in learning - helping volunteers to identify learning process, having regular evaluation and documentation of learning process and producing learning validation tool.
