The Winterwerft Festival is a project starting in January every year. It is an international physical theatre festival with a length of two weeks with the central issue of the climate change and environmental crisis. The association opens to the city of Frankfurt-am-Main for 6 days. The festival brings people together from different backgrounds to reflect and formulate ideas, opinions, and creative ways of passing their messages to protect the environment and reconnect nature to humans. The volunteers will help building the festival up between the 26th and the 30th of January. On the weekends (30.01-01.02 / 06.02-08.02 / 13.02-15.02), the program is open for volunteers and audiences. During the week, it is more calm and introspective. Volunteers help with cooking and with cleaning duties in the community. The team of volunteers will live and work in the same place, they create a strong team spirit and can participate to social, political and creative processes.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Volunteers are hosted like the members of the association and the long-term residents: there is a big house with kitchen, shared bathrooms and toilets, dinning-room, laundry, workshops... Important fact, the sleeping rooms are in the yard: they are about 30 caravans, old busses and containers transformed into cosy rooms. Food is in the kitchen and in the dining room. Bikes and cars are available, as well as Wi-Fi.
Wat leer je?
Artistic training: volunteers can take part into workshops of theatre, dance and vocal trainings in the weekends as well as a chance to develop musical skills and creativity. More workshops possible like Yoga, Environment based, Puppetry... Culturally: a lot of languages and nationalities in the association, shows and concerts during the events. Social activities like meetings and games. Other skills depending on the tasks of the day. Examples: buiding and unbuilding stage or festival structure, sewing and decoration, technics, organisational tasks, artist care, welcoming audiences...
Wie zoeken we?
-Participants should be under the age of 31 years old -Be interested in cultural projects or arts -Have interest in living with other people (community lifestyle) and be able to share and respect with diverse people
