ASPEm

ASPEm Bolivia

Cochabamba, Bolīvija

Apraksts

The volunteer supports ASPEm which together with Yachay Chhalaku works to strengthen the economic rights and autonomy of peasant women survivors of violence, by contributing to the following actions: support to agroecological productive processes and sustainable economic activities led by women, with a focus on food security, income generation and reduction of economic vulnerability; accompaniment of groups of women in the development of agroecological plots and family gardens, as well as in sustainable agricultural production oriented toward both self-consumption and the local market; support to training processes aimed at strengthening economic-productive capacities (valorisation of local products, local market analysis, natural resource management). Activities are carried out mainly in the field, in both urban and rural areas, alternating with office work (e.g. preparation of materials, report writIng, documentation systematization), for 30–38 hours per week (excluding travel time).

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

The house is in Cochabamba, where ASPEm’s local office is based, a city offering activities, courses, shopping centres and services. It is in a safe area, shared with other volunteers, each person having a private, lockable room. Utilities such as water, gas, electricity and internet are included. The house is in the northern area, close to shops, pharmacies and banks. It has good access to safe and affordable public transportation to reach Sacaba, where the project activities take place. Vegetarian/vegan options are limited, but there is more variety available in the city centre.

Mācības pasākuma laikā

ASPEm offers training and exchange spaces focused on gender equality and the accompaniment of peasant women survivors of violence, as well as a practical learning and exchange experience in agroecology and food security. Online meetings with other project volunteers are foreseen as spaces for training and the exchange of experiences, challenges and good practices. Access will be provided to platforms such as OLS, GOT and SALTO, and transversal skills such as autonomy, teamwork, time management and problem-solving will be strengthened. The experience will be certified through the Youth Pass.
