Description

This long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering project will be carried out in Cambados, Spain, and aims to promote solidarity, active citizenship, and social inclusion. Volunteers from different European countries will support local community activities while developing their personal, social, and intercultural competences. The project focuses on non-formal learning, intercultural exchange, and community engagement, with particular attention to inclusion and equal opportunities. Volunteers will receive mentoring, learning support, and Youthpass recognition in a safe and supportive environment, contributing to both their personal development and the well-being of the local community.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared house or apartment in Cambados, Spain, provided by the hosting organization. Rooms will be shared (2–3 volunteers per room). The accommodation is fully equipped with basic furniture, bedding, kitchen facilities, a washing machine, and internet access. All utility costs are covered by the project, and the housing complies with health and safety standards.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive continuous training throughout the volunteering period. This includes on-the-job training, mentoring support, and regular meetings with the project coordinator. Volunteers will develop practical skills related to their daily tasks, as well as transversal competences such as teamwork, communication, and intercultural awareness. Language support and learning reflection activities will also be provided, and learning outcomes will be recognized through Youthpass.

Participant profile

The project is open to young people aged 18–30 who are motivated to participate in a long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering experience. No specific educational background or professional experience is required. Participants should be open-minded, willing to engage in community activities, and interested in intercultural learning and solidarity-based actions. The project encourages the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for all volunteers.
