We are looking for young people interested in helping out at the Youth centre Kotlovnica. You can find us in Kamnik, in the basement of the House of culture. We are part of Creative quarter Barutana, which is located in the former gunpowder factory. We work with young people aged between 15 and 29 and create events and workshops depending on their interest (music production, concert lights or sound, video production, theatre...), but we also get a lot of interest for creative workshops (sewing, sculpturing, drawing ...). The main activities of this project will be: - Assisting in the youth centre's activities and creating video and photo coverage of its main activities. - Creating new activities in the youth centre. - Creating graphics, posters and digital content. - Learning light and sound design for events. - Being part of one of the largest local summer festivals in Slovenia – festival Kamfest. Other activities are organised according to your interest.

Your apartment in located in the same building as our youth centre and it has a separate entrance. It can host 3 volunteers and consists of kitchen-dining-living area, one shower, one toilet with sink, and three single rooms with bed, table, and wardrobe. It has Wi-Fi, smoke alarm and security alarm. You will receive 5 EUR of individual support per day and 196 EUR of food money each month. Wat leer je?
You will attend on-arrival and mid-term trainings that are organised by Slovenian National agency Movit. Youth centre Kotlovnica offers a variety of opportunities and mentor support including theoretical and practical training as a light or sound technician for events, video and audio production and mentorsip for 3D printing, laser cutting and photography. We have a studio with a computer and recording room and recording equipment (camera, sound, lights), a fully equipped concert hall and other production rooms you can use (band room, workshop, multipurpose room).
Wie zoeken we?
It's no problem if you don't know exactly what to do and you also don’t need to be an expert . There are many different possibilities at the Youth centre Kotlovnica, especially if you are interesed in art, music, video, performances of all sorts ... art and culture in general. You can train in light and sound, audio and video production, prepare graphic material for our events, make videos for and from our events, help with setting up monthly clothing exchanges, collaborate with other organisations (theatre, photography, young people with disabilities ...), organise your own workshops (creative workshops work well) or just participate in our regular activities and socialize with locals. We want you to be ready for work, to enjoy learning new things and also be proactive and open-minded. Please, spend time with us and ask questions. The success of the whole activity also depends a lot on you and your your willingness to be part of our way of working, which is quite varied and flexible. During the week we work in the morning hours between 9:00 and 13:00 (these are our administrative hours when most of us are in the office), and then we come back in the afternoon between 17:00 and 20:00, on Fridays we stay until 23:00. During the season, some events also take place on Saturdays (if this happens, you are free on Monday to ensure two consecutive days off). We don't have an exact application deadline but we would like you to arrive to Kamnik at the second part of July or no later than 3 August 2026 and join us as a volunteer for a period of 11 months. This year's Kamfest will take place between 7 and 15 August 2026, so we want you to arrive at least a few days before the start.
