This internship offers a unique chance to live and work in an ecological community. We run a seminar center and an organic farm with vegetables, orchards, sheep and cattle. We manage our own forest and are renovating our buildings ecologically. Your role will be diverse and hands-on. You will help cook organic meals for seminar guests, assist with cleaning guest rooms, help organise our annual family festival, work on renovation projects, cultivate vegetables, and develop your own projects. After a comprehensive introduction and practical experience in all areas, you will be able to choose a focus based on your interests and strengths, and bring your own ideas to life. While responsibilities at the seminar center form the core of the internship, additional tasks can be tailored to match your personal interests. If you enjoy working in a team, enjoy meaningful interaction with people, and find fulfilment in creative and practical work, then Sulzbrunn is the ideal place for you.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
As a volunteer, you will have your own room in a shared apartment in one of our houses. The kitchen, living room, and bathroom are shared. You will also have access to common areas such as the sports hall, lounge, and seminar rooms. We have a car pool scheme which you can join, depending on your driver's license. A bus stop and train station are within a 20- to 35-minute walk. Covered during ESC: free accommodation, food allowance, pocket money, health insurance.
Wat leer je?
Regular concerts, festivals, and courses take place throughout the year in Sulzbrunn, which you are welcome to join. These cover a wide range of themes including farming, water management, meditation, Ayurveda, and much more. In addition, whether it’s dancing together, gathering around the campfire, practicing yoga and meditation, hiking in the mountains, or playing sport and games, there are many ways to become actively involved in community life. In addition, you will attend mandatory training sessions organized by the ESC programme, and attend a German language course in the nearby town.
Wie zoeken we?
We're looking for participants who have… ▪ A strong interest in sustainability and community living in a rural environment. ▪ Openness to learn and to meet new people. ▪ Motivation to contribute actively to the community and the seminar center. ▪ Good English or German language skills (German is an advantage but not required if you speak English). ▪ Willingness to learn German or further improve your German skills. ▪ Availability and readiness to work 30 hours per week.
