If you enjoy helping people learn new skills and creating connections between generations, this project might be perfect for you. We are Community, a French non-profit organization located in Arques, near Saint-Omer in northern France. Our association works to strengthen social connections through educational, cultural, and inclusive activities. Digital Workshops for Seniors The volunteer will support senior citizens in developing their digital skills through workshops at three levels: digital autonomy, beginner, and advanced. Activities include helping seniors use smartphones, computers, email, video calls, online services, and administrative platforms. The volunteer will also provide individual support when needed. As workshops are conducted in French, a good level of French is required. Youth Activities The volunteer will also help organize intercultural and creative activities for children and teenagers to discover different culture. Days off : Wed / Sat / Sun
Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
Accommodation: You will live in a lovely shared house with other volunteers (2 or 3), located just 10 minutes’ walk from the association. You will have your own private bedroom. Transport: You will receive a bus subscription and a train discount card for regional travel. Health Insurance: You will be covered by the ESC program insurance. We also recommend obtaining a European Health Insurance Card before departure. Financial Support: The association will help you open a French bank account, where you will receive your monthly food allowance and pocket money (around 400€ per month).
Mācības pasākuma laikā
Participation in arrival training and mid-term training organized by the ESC program is mandatory. If additional training sessions for staff or volunteers are organized, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate if they wish. French classes are offered every week by the Red Cross at the association premises.
Dalībnieka profils
We are looking for a volunteer who: Has a good level of French (important for communicating with seniors) Is patient, pedagogical, and comfortable teaching basic digital skills Is interested in working with senior citizens and helping them gain digital independence Is open-minded and sociable, able to connect with people from different backgrounds Is creative and comfortable interacting with children and teenagers Is interested in international experiences and intercultural exchange Shares values of solidarity, respect, and inclusion
