Do you want to enjoy a summer in the Belgian coast working with youth and exploring Belgium with other volunteers? Then this is your chance. This 2026 we are bringing back our volunteering experience in Jeugdhuis De Takel. The project consists of 3 months of volunteering in the Flemish Don Bosco Youth Center De Takel, in Oostende. The aim of the youth centre is to create an enjoyable and safe space for youth in the city. You will be part of the team which means creating activities, going on daily trips and also supporting the youth when needed. The youth centre is a place for youngsters from 12-25 and it is a multicultural exchange place! Furthermore, you will also take part in Youth 4 Youths, which means that for three weekends in July you will join other volunteers as a leader in a special program tailored to make their time in Belgium educational but also fun. You will be exploring different parts on Belgium with the help of our instructors and creating and leading sessions.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
Accommodation is provided by the organisations, you will join other volunteers in a spacious house walking distance from the youth centre. Besides a private room, all basic needs are provided: kitchen, bathroom, tv, internet… The rent is included in the ESC grant. Cooking will be done by the volunteers, so you will receive a weekly budget (to cover food and household costs) and pocket money. A bike will be provided for transportation around the city. Travel costs will be covered until a max. of 309€ all depending on distance and means of transport used.
Formazione durante l'attività
During the weekends, all the international volunteers will take part in a joint program which is organized and carried out by Bosco Base. This program will offer trainings, evaluation, intercultural activities and cultural sightseeing. the role of the volunteer is to learn to lead the activities that are aimed to help with youth work and animation, but also share their experiences and cultures among each other. If possible, the volunteers will also be welcomed to join other international trainings and workshops carried out by Bosco Base and their partner networks, like DBYN.
Profilo del partecipante
We are looking for active and resourceful people that want to collaborate with the organisation during the summer. - It is important, but not mandatory, that you have experience in youth work and leading activities - Knowledge of English. - Open to other cultures, team work and interested in working in an international setting. - Preferably older than 20 years old since the youth centre welcomes youngsters from 12-25, but it is not mandatory.
