A volunteer will be volunteering in kindergarten Hlavička (hosting organization), supporting the local community. The participant activities are: teaching English language, working directly with kids in the kindergarten by organizing educational activities and games, bringing new ideas, help with daily running of the kindergarten (including cleaning) and with organizing community events, a little of administrative work, cooperating on other activities with the staff. Hlavička is a small kindergarten in the heart of Bratislava situated in the family house. It offers family atmosphere in which small kids are being taught how to be independent, respectful to their friends and environment. It also welcomes children with other mother tongues than Slovak. Szállás, étkezés és utazás
Volunteer will be provided an adequate place to live - in a triple room in a brand new modern dormitory right in the city center, just a 10-minute walk from kindergarten Hlavička. The volunteer is entitled to pocket money, food arrangements and contribution to local transportation (380eur/month) and travel arrangements to and from Bratislava according to the distance calculator. In Hlavička, the volunteer is offered a morning snack, lunch, coffee, and tea during working days. Working hours are from 8,00 till 13,00. Afternoons and weekends are free.
Képzés a tevékenység során
BDC (Bratislavské dobrovoľnícke centrum - lead organization) provides Orientation training the day after arrival. Volunteer attends compulsory Slovak language course, coaching sessions and meetings. Hosting organization provides volunteer with information from the field of preschool pedagogy and psychology on a daily basis. Volunteer is required to participate on On-arrival and Mid-term training organized by the National Agency where she/he will meet other ESC volunteers. At the end of the program a participant receives the Youthpass certificate.
Résztvevői profil
In this project we are looking for someone ready to take on new challenges, who enjoys working with children. The required qualities include: good communication skills in English, flexibility (working with children requires good adaptability to changes), creativity, openness, empathy, independence, patience and responsibility for assigned tasks. Education in the field of childcare or experience working with children is an advantage, but not necessary. Singing, dancing and playing a musical instrument are welcome. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. The project lasts the entire school year (September 2026 – August 2027), and the candidate must be available for the full duration, except for vacation time.
