Beyond the Feed is a long-term ESC volunteering project hosted by MC Idrija, where two international volunteers will become part of a dynamic youth organisation and contribute to everyday youth work.
MC Idrija is a youth centre working locally and internationally through projects, school collaborations, youth exchanges, mobile youth work, workshops, events, and support for young people.
As a volunteer, you will be fully included in this environment and encouraged to explore different areas of youth work based on your interests, skills, and ideas.
The project offers a flexible and supportive space to learn, try new things, and co-create activities with our team.
You may also help share MC Idrija’s activities with the wider community through creative social media storytelling (such as videos, photos, reels, or posts), giving visibility to the work we do with young people. This is one of several ways you can contribute, alongside many other opportunities within youth work.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Accommodation: Hostel Idrija, managed by Idrija Youth Centre. The youth centre is in charge of providing a place to live for the volunteers. The volunteers will have their own room and share the kitchen and bathroom. Hostel is located 5 min walk from the historical town centre and features an amazing view with spacious summer terrace.
Food: Money for groceries 240€/month.
Travel: Slovenia is easily accessible – by plane to Ljubljana (LJU), Graz (GRZ), Zagreb (ZAG), Trieste (TRS) or Treviso (TSF). Shuttle buses from airports to Ljubljana and hourly bus connections to Idrija.

Wie zoeken we?
We are looking for creative, proactive, innovative, open-minded, motivated and responsible candidates who like to work in teams, but are also independent at work and with a good understanding of English.
The volunteers must be between 18 and 30 years old. We gladly welcome people with all social, geographical, economic, cultural, educational, and other backgrounds.
You might enjoy this project if you:
- are interested in youth work and working with young people
- enjoy teamwork and sharing ideas, but can also work independently
- are creative willing to try and learn new things
- are interested in social media, storytelling, or creating photo/video content
- would like to contribute your own ideas, interests, and skills to the community
