The high school Lycée Saint-Vincent de Paul is a sixth-form college catering for students from Year 10 through to postgraduate level. We are located in the city centre of Nîmes, in the south of France, just a stone’s throw from the train station and the amphitheatre, in a very pleasant setting. We have a dynamic team running a wide range of projects, including language initiatives, eco-friendly schemes and community-focused activities … Every year, from September to July, two volunteers are hosted and work together at the school. The aim of the project is to promote intercultural exchange between volunteers and pupils. As key players in the education sector, their activities will involve designing and running workshops for young people using non-formal learning methods. Most of the volunteers’ activities will focus on European languages, non-formal learning, discovering Europe and actively participating in the school’s projects (sustainable development, etc.)
Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
Volunteers will live together in a fully furnished flat and will have their own bedroom. The flat is located near Nîmes city center and close to the shops (bakery, pharmacy..). The timetable is set according to the needs of the teachers and the projects, the total working hours are 30 hours/week from Monday to Friday. The volunteer is entitled to school holidays, amounting to 15 days every 6 to 7 weeks. The allocated is 8€ pocket money and 7€ for the food and activities. He/she has access to an electric bike, access to french courses 1h30/week and gym classes for free.
Mācības pasākuma laikā
The volunteer will have the opportunity to participate in an arrival seminar and a mid-term seminar organized by the French National Agency. They will benefit from the team's support to learn how to carry out the required activities throughout their volunteer placement and will also receive training in facilitation with the Maison de l'Europe in Nîmes during their integration and throughout the year some cultural activities (museums, library, cities...).

- Be able to work independently
- Be motivated and committed
- Be open-minded and willing to engage with others
- Have a good understanding of spoken French
- Be fluent in English
- Be fluent in Spanish
- Be able to capture people’s attention during presentations
- Be able to adapt to different situations and audiences
The volunteer should be an open-minded person who is not afraid to approach others and can work independently. A volunteer who will be proactive and get involved in as many projects as possible.
