Our daily center Lumea Lui Pinocchio has the main mission to support disadvantaged children by offering them a safe space. Every day, the children benefit from non-formal educational activities, help with their homework, as well as a warm lunch and snack. Most of the children come from the Roma community, where families often face high levels of illiteracy and unemployment. The activity is about engaging the children in art forms such as music, visual arts, and storytelling through non-formal education. Tasks: Assist with theater-based activities Prepare visual art classes, Exploring music through rhythm, melody, and group play. Facilitate storytelling and creative writing activities to boost imagination and language skills. Offer encouragement and support to shy or hesitant participants through a positive environment for them to feel comfortable. Assist the children with their homework Work alongside staff and other volunteers to foster a supportive, inclusive environment.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The volunteers will be lodged at an apartment specifically dedicated to their hosting. (max. 2 people/ room). The apartment is very close to the Center Pinocchio. Volunteers will be provided with monthly food allowance for their grocery shopping together with a pocket money of 4 Euro for each day of service.
Formazione durante l'attività
The participant will engage in non formal education activities with the support of our teacher and other staff members. The participant will also be in close contact with our mentor, to ensure that the experience matches his/her expectations. According to the time of the volunteering experience, or the national agency or the organisation will provide an On Arrival Training, a Mid-Term Evaluation and an Evaluation workshop.
Profilo del partecipante
We are searching for young people with a strong interest in ensuring the rights of the most disadvantaged groups and with a big passion for digitalisation and volunteering. Reliability, critical thinking and availability are some of the qualities we are searching for in a participant, along with a willingness to work in a multicultural team and with a desire for self growth and for contributing to other people's growth.
