Irida Women’s Center supports refugee, migrant & local women who are among the most vulnerable, a community of more than 500 members from over 50 countries. We provide individualized psycho-social support, protection services and legal counseling based on the members' needs. Volunteer will: Facilitate creative, recreational activity sessions for community members from all cultural backgrounds (e.g. drawing, painting, crafts, knitting, dancing). Act as the focal point for the facilitation of community-led activities. Communicate activity supply needs to the Livelihoods Coordinator.

Szállás, étkezés és utazás

Volunteers are going to be accommodated in a fully equipped building in the city centre near the main train and bus station of the city. It is an autonomous 5 floored building of 150 m2 per floor. There are two living rooms and a big kitchen, showers in the common floors and toilets in every floor. Volunteer from our other projects also stay in the house. Volunteer will share their room with 1-3 more people of the same gender. Food is provided through catering service, Monday-Friday and food allowance for weekends. City bus and metro transport card are also provided to volunteers.

Résztvevői profil

Volunteers need to be between 18-30 old and motivated to join the project and the activity's specialized needs. Since activity is implemented in a safe center for women, only female applicants can be considered. Volunteers will have to meet the following characteristics to the biggest extent possible: ● Interest and comfortability with facilitating workshops and artistic activities ● Ability in the use of computers and digital tools (Internet, Whatsapp, Google Suite, Microsoft Platforms, etc.) ● Comfortability working with women from diverse backgrounds and adapting to a multicultural environment ● Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity. ● Additional relevant language skills are a plus (French, Greek, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, etc.) As this is an ESC long-term activity, applicants should be aware of the ESC 12 month limit rule, for participation in activities throughout their period of eligibility.
