Steinbeis ESC 25.01
Bürgergemeinschaft Oberried
Oberried, Németország
Leírás
The Bürgergemeinschaft Oberried e.V. (Oberried Citizens' Association) is a ‘caring community’ founded in 2015 that is committed to the principle of ‘What one person cannot achieve alone, we can achieve together!’ As a non-profit association, the organisation takes on the intergenerational contract in the village community and performs tasks that used to be carried out in extended families. At the Ursulinenhof, the citizens’ association runs a day care centre for 16 people and a self-managed shared accommodation scheme for 11 people requiring nursing and/or care, across all care levels, with 24-hour support. In addition, qualified personal carers provide home-based support for elderly people in the village of Oberried.
Szállás, étkezés és utazás
Volunteers are given a single room in a shared flat together with other volunteers, trainees, interns etc. in the neighbouring town of Freiburg (230.00 inhabitants). Volunteers can take part in the communal catering in the Ursulinenhof, for days off they receive a meal allowance or can come to the dining room for meals. ESC volunteers receive a D-Ticket, which allows to
travel easily and flexibly throughout Germany - whether by bus, train, tram or S-Bahn! It is valid for all public transport (exept high speed trains like EC, IC, ICE).
Képzés a tevékenység során
To decrease problems from the start, volunteers go to important introduction seminars where they'll receive information about the institution and their duties. There is continuous professional support for the volunteers. One example of support is regular reflection talks. A neutral person from outside of the core group will lead these talks. Apart from the compulsory ESC training cycle provided by the National Agency there is also weekly language training by a qualified teacher. Volunteers get the opportunity to visit regional education and recruting fairs.
Résztvevői profil
Our projects target young people at an early stage of their education or training path, which means our focus lies outside of university graduates and current students.
Volunteers should be interested in working in the social and health care sector and be open to working with elderly and/or disabled people and people at risk of exclusion.
Volunteers should be able to develop and plan activities on their own initiative, but also be able to contribute innovatively and collaborate within the team.
A basic knowledge of German would be helpful and a willingness to learn German is expected. A class B driver's license would be helpful.
We expect a long term participation (min. 10 months) because the persons cared for in a nursing home need stable personal relationships, therefore it's not possible to change the
volunteers frequently.
