Apraksts

TECHO Honduras works with 12 communities around the country, 7 communities located in the north of the country. In each community, TECHO implements the institution's work model and develops housing programmes and community infrastructure projects in cooperation with the neighbours of the communities. The volunteer will be responsible for the design and implementation of the area's local strategy, guaranteeing a community development approach in all processes and actions carried out by the organisation in the communities. Together with the territorial team, s/he will accompany the processes of opening communities, monitoring the expansion and coverage strategy, leading the implementation of the Working Groups with the corresponding cycle of diagnosis, action plan and execution of projects in the communities. In coordination with the other territorial areas, s/he will lead the development of community infrastructure projects and other community development projects

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

The project is financed by the EU and has the following conditions: -A monthly allowance of 700 EUR is provided to volunteer for covering basic needs. -The accommodation, visa fees, return flights, vaccination costs, the health insurance, basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) and the expenses related to transportation will be covered by the programme; -For each month of voluntary activity 2 days of holidays are provided.

Mācības pasākuma laikā

Volunteers will receive briefings by MdM and TECHO at MdM HQ in Madrid, as well as a mandatory online training on environmental issues before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support and host organisations. They will be part of a multidisciplinary team where they will gain knowledge about other professions and the national context. They will learn about the characteristics of poverty and inequality from a human rights perspective, as well as foster their leadership.

Selection and exclusion criteria: It is essential that the person identifies with our institutional values: Empathy, Humility, Ambition, Determination, Conviction, Excellence, Optimism, Solidarity, Diversity, Responsibility, Assertiveness, Creativity, Effectiveness, Reliability, Service. Minimum requirements: Good knowledge of the Spanish language; Professional graduate or student preferably in social sciences degrees (psychology, social work, sociology and others), architecture, engineering or similar. Experience in project design and implementation; Experience leading teams and training spaces; Experience working in Community Development processes.

Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
