Walking Together Through ART
Asociación Cultural Transeúnte
Malagón, Spanje
Beschrijving
Join Asociación Cultural Transeúnte for a long-term individual volunteering experience in Malagón, a rural town in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. You will support ongoing cultural and community work with children, teenagers, young adults, families, artists and local groups. Choose one main focus: communication, education or art, while collaborating with the wider team. Tasks may include creating photo, video and social media content; co-designing non-formal workshops and group activities; and supporting murals, exhibitions, performances and community events. The weekly schedule is 30 to 38 hours, including preparation, team meetings, Spanish learning, reflection and personal project time. Volunteers do not replace staff or run a separate project. They contribute new perspectives, learn with the team and help make culture more accessible while strengthening rural youth participation. Flexibility is needed around festivals and community events.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Accommodation is arranged in Malagón in shared housing with other volunteers. Room arrangements will depend on the final housing available. Food support and daily pocket money are provided according to European Solidarity Corps rules. Travel to and from the project is reimbursed within the applicable ESC distance-band limits. Any transport required for project activities will be organised or covered by Transeúnte. Volunteers will receive practical guidance about the house, local services and mobility after arrival.
Wat leer je?
Volunteers will take part in the official ESC on-arrival and mid-term training. Transeúnte will also provide an induction to the organisation, the local community, the working methods and the volunteer's chosen focus area. Ongoing support includes a mentor, an activity coordinator, regular check-ins, Spanish language learning, team meetings and reflection time. Volunteers will receive practical guidance for activities with children and young people, inclusive facilitation, respectful image-making and consent. Learning will be documented through the Youthpass process.
Wie zoeken we?
We are looking for young people aged 18 to 30 who are eligible for the European Solidarity Corps and genuinely motivated to live and volunteer in a rural community. Applicants should have working English or Spanish and be willing to learn Spanish. We value reliability, flexibility, initiative, teamwork, respectful communication and openness to working with children, teenagers, young adults, families, artists and local groups. Applicants should choose one main focus: communication, education or art. Relevant experience in visual storytelling, photography, video, design, non-formal education, facilitation or artistic practice is welcome, but no formal qualification is required and expertise in all three areas is not expected. Candidates should be ready to contribute to practical preparation, adapt when plans change, respect consent and inclusion, and collaborate across the team's activities. An interest in local culture and community participation is essential.
