Living in community feels counter intuitive for those who have grown up in a capitalistic society. Individualism, poor communication, and low engagement hinder social change and community resilience. In Dio Pigadia we are trying to challenge those habits and co-create thge conditions for collective responsibility and effective decision- making to thrive.
What will you do:
- Organise and co-assign community tasks
- Collaborative meal preparation
- Animal care
- General farm-running responsibilities
- Participatory decision-making
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
Comfortable accommodation will be provided for all volunteers. The specific accommodation arrangements will be discussed individually with each volunteer, taking their preferences and needs into consideration.
Every afternoon and weekends you are free to explore the area and enjoy the Peloponnesos. Bikes are available on the farm and we are happy to organize your lift to the city where you can reach different part of Greece with buses.
We cooking mainly vegetarian melas twice a day, with vegetables from the garden and local organic products. We bake our sourdough bread every Friday in the cob wood oven. We eating together lunch and dinner and rotating cooking and clinging/dishes tasks (from Monday to Friday).
Formazione durante l'attività
During the project you will be provided with guidance to explore new ways of creating engaging, story-telling through images. You will have an opportunity to learn about permaculture gardening, regenerative agriculture, self-sufficiency skills, community living etc.
Profilo del partecipante
We are looking for a responsible, cooperative and open-minded volunteer who enjoys community life and working together with others. The ideal participant is willing to share responsibilities, communicate openly, help with daily tasks, care for animals and actively participate in collective decision-making and community life.
